Day 1 Arrive at Corazon Resort & Beach Club

I'm the type of traveler that likes to arrive early, get settled and still have most oft he day to enjoy our destination. I can barely sleep the night before a trip anyway - Might as well use the time to sleep on the plane! We boarded our plane in Sacramento at 4 am, had one layover, and landed in Cabo at 9am. Perfect! Let's go!

As our journey unfolded and the anticipation peaked, we finally arrived at the towering white marvel that stood proudly against the backdrop of the azure waters of Cabo. The modern resort, with its sleek lines and pristine facade, seemed to emerge from the very essence of luxury and tranquility.

As we stepped onto the grounds, we were greeted by the kindest staff, and a symphony of artistic sights and sounds: the gentle rustle of palm trees swaying in the breeze, the lively music playing all around us, hypnotic rhythm of waves caressing the shore, and the vibrant hues of the surrounding landscape painting a picture of paradise.

With check-in a breeze, we were swiftly guided to our eagerly awaited haven. Entering our room was like stepping into a realm of contemporary elegance, where every detail spoke of refined taste and comfort. From the rounded wood modern furniture to the earthy zen ambiance of the oversized rainwater shower, the space exuded a harmonious blend of modernity and serenity. And the delights didn't end there. With a partial view of the ocean gracing our windows, anticipation soared. But it was the discovery of a private patio, complete with a luxurious hot tub, that truly elevated our experience. Here, amidst the whisper of ocean breezes and the promise of relaxation, we knew we were in for an unforgettable stay.

Eager to delve deeper into the resort experience, we set out to explore, our appetites leading the way. Our quest for sustenance led us to Baja Brewing Co., where we were treated to the ultimate pairing of the finest burgers and brews, all against a backdrop of breathtaking views that perfectly complemented the flavors of our meal.

Day 2 Relax at Rooftop 360 & Dinner at Funky Geisha

Waking up to the sunshine in Cabo on Medano Beach is a whole vibe. Stepping out on the patio with your coffee, viewing the arches as the sun rises, and watching the mist above the ocean is an unforgettable feeling.

For our second day, we decide to relax and take in all that the resort and surrounding Cabo has to offer, starting off with brunch at Aleta, right on Medano Beach.

Quick tip

  • If you're in the need for anything from the market or nearby convenience store, there are many within walking distance. My recommendation XOXO Market (5 min. walk) or Walmart (10 min walk). There's also a Costco in the area, 10 mins driving distance.

Rooftop 360

For unparalleled views of Cabo San Lucas, look no further than Rooftop 360. This hidden gem boasts the highest rooftop infinity pool in the area, offering breathtaking vistas of the iconic Cabo arches that will leave you speechless. Once you're there, you'll find it hard to tear yourself away from the mesmerizing scenery. And as if that weren't enough, the drinks served here are as delightful as the views themselves. So, make sure to carve out an afternoon to indulge in this unforgettable experience – trust me, you won't regret it.

Dinner Dreams. at Funky Geisha, Taboo

Picture a mix of laid-back Mexican vibes and captivating Japanese allure – that's the essence of this romantic beach spot, Funky Geisha. The fusion of Mexican and Japanese flavors is simply irresistible, making dining here an unforgettable experience. Imagine enjoying candlelit dinners with atmospheric beats spun by a DJ, all under the moon's glow as the sun sets over the ocean. It's the perfect setting for a double date, anniversary celebration, or birthday bash!

Day 3 Whale Watching Sail & the BEST Tacos at La Lupita

Today marked the realization of a long-awaited bucket list dream – Whale watching! With mixed reviews swirling around, I was eager to judge for myself. Thankfully, my sister-in-law stumbled upon Cabo Sailing Adventures, offering private sailing at an unbeatable price. Without hesitation, we embarked on this adventure!

From the moment we departed the marina until we were adrift on the open water, it felt like stepping into a scene from a blockbust film. The cerulean waters stretched endlessly, framed by majestic Cabo arches towering above us like ancient giants.

Our day unfolded with snorkeling adventures with tons of fish, complemented by a delectable light lunch and refreshing drinks.

Every moment was a treasure trove of unforgettable experiences. And then, the highlight of highlights – witnessing breaching whales! One particularly playful giant even trailed our boat, delighting us with its antics for the majority of our journey.

For anyone contemplating this escapade, I encourage you to add it to your itinerary during whale watching season, which spans from late December to early March. Trust me; it’s an adventure you won’t soon forget!

Quick Tips:

  • To avoid any sudden sea sickness, bring Dramamine. Even if you usually don't get sea sick, it's a good idea to have on hand just in case.

  • Don't forget the sunscreen! The sun is very powerful when out on the water.

  • Always tip your captains, they're absolutely amazing and go over and beyond to make sure you have the best experience.

La Lupita Taco & Mezcal

Since stepping off the plane, my quest for the ultimate taco spot consumed me. I had a hunch it wouldn't be within the confines of the resort, and as fate would have it, I was right. Just a brief three-minute stroll from Corazon, we stumbled upon a true gem:

After a day brimming with aquatic adventures, our minds buzzed with the thought of capping it off with a dinner that was not only local but also bursting with flavor and fun. La Lupita delivered on all fronts. From the moment we stepped inside, the vibrant atmosphere hinted at the culinary delights awaiting us.

Tacos, my personal weakness, took center stage, each bite a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. The ambiance, the company, and of course, the food – everything aligned perfectly, ensuring an evening to remember.

My personal taco & dessert recommendations:

  • El Torero: Cecina, Local Chorizo, Chile Molita and Tomatillo Sauce, Yellow Corn

  • Cheese Crust Pastor: Marinated Pork, Asadero Cheese Crust, Cilantro and Onion, Pineapple

  • El Takeshi: Rib Eye, Sesame, Beef Filet, Hoisin, Ginger, Chives, Crispy Shallots, Flour

  • Flan Mexicano

  • Pan de Elote con Helado Artesanal (Corn Bread & Ice Cream)

*Honestly I wanted to eat more because the flavors are so life changing. Booking my return trip now.... Definitely a must visit when in Cabo.

Day 4 UTV and Camel Rides

On our final day in Cabo, we decided to cap off our vacation with an unforgettable adventure: a scenic Camel & UTV excursion. It was a dream I had long harbored, and finally, the opportunity had presented itself. We arranged our excursion through Cactus Adventures, a decision that would prove to be the perfect choice.

What made this experience even more special was learning about the camels' journey. These magnificent creatures were rescued from unhealthy habitats and now found solace in a camel sanctuary along the Cabo seaside. Witnessing them roam freely in their newfound home was a heartwarming sight indeed.

As if the camel encounter wasn't thrilling enough, we concluded our excursion with an exhilarating UTV ride along the beach. Racing over dunes with the ocean breeze tousling our hair was an experience that will forever be etched in our memories. It was the perfect finale to our Cabo getaway, blending adventure, nature, and moments of pure joy into one unforgettable day.

Quick Tips:

  • Wear closed toed shoes, preferably tennis shoes that you don't mind getting dusty.

  • Wear comfortable clothing, and be prepared to store away your phone. Go Pros are allowed though. Lockers are provided before heading off on your adventure.

Day 5 Home

There are no words to describe what an amazing four day we had in Cabo! We could've used just one more day to relax by the pool. But as they say, all good things must come to an end. I hope these tips and intinerary inspired you to visit Cabo San Lucas and explore more of what is out in the world!
